OK, so I admit it. The picture is not of a 4CX400, it is really a tetrode
from RCA that looks so much like the 3CX400 that I thought I would include
it. Don't buy one of these thinking it is an 8874!
The 8874/3CX400 is a metal ceramic triode designed for use up to around 1 GHz. The 3CX800 is related. They are very expensive new but were used in some of the early Henry Tempo amplifiers. The good news is that Svetlana are now producing them, but they are still poor value compared to thet alternatives on offer. The output is around 500W up to 70cms. EHT of 2.2kV at 350mA. |
