  • A nice valve for the serious QRO VHF/UHF amplifier. The anode dissipation is 1500W. You can put them into 2kW output service at HF. They are tetrodes and as such require a screen supply. They are best operated in grounded screen - which means the grid and heater supply sits at -500V. Many designs in Dubus etc have produced over 1kW output on 70cms. They are rumoured to work on 23cms.

The 7214 is the pulse rated variant with 5kV anode voltage and 1kV screen voltage ratings - probably just a high spec 7213.
